How to arrive in Sorrento

Getting to Sorrento isn’t a problem, from whatever directions you are coming from. The reference point is Naples with its international airport, the Railway Station and the Port.

From Milan or Rome by motorway:
If you are travelling by car you can use various motorways, from the North: go on the motorway A/2 Milano/Napoli, and continue until you reach the exit at Castellammare di Stabia; from the South: go on the A/3 motorway Reggio Calabria-Salerno and head towards Naples until you reach the exit at Castellammare di Stabia; from the East: go on A/16 Bari-Napoli motorway which joins onto the A/3 Napoli-Salerno motorway, continue up to the exit at Castellammare di Stabia. In all cases at Castellammare di Stabia you will come across the SS 145 which gives indications for the Sorrento Peninsular.

From Rome or Naples by train:
For those of who are travelling by train you can catch the train from Rome Termini Central Station, take a train Rome-Naples timetables and tiket sale on www.trenitalia.it.
From Naples train station you can catch the local train (CIRCUMVESUVIANA) that runs frequently (quite every 30 minutes from 5.00 to 23.00 ) from Naples to Sorrento. It takes about one hour , the cost is circa euro 3,50 per person.

From Rome by bus:
For those of who are travelling by bus you can use the “Marozzi” bus service that leaves from Roma Stazione Tiburtina at 15.00 (only on workdays) and arrives in Sorrento at 19.00, the ticket costs c.ca Euro 16.00 per person. (there is also a bus leaving at 7.00 a.m. only on fry sat and sun).

From Naples’ airport by bus:
For those who prefer to fly there is the bus service “Curreri” connects Naples Airport (Capodichino) directely to Sorrento city centre. It takes about one hour and the cost is ca. euro 5,0 per person.

From Naples port by hydrofoil:
A 30 minutes cruise trip from Molo Beverello, Naples.
